1998 was the season Jorge Posada emerged as the successor to Joe Girardi. Under the Yankee veteran's mentorship Posada hit just shy of .270 and was behind the plate during David Well's perfect game. The Rawlings 456B model bat shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. Many ball marks with stitch impressions along with blue ink transfers and cleat imprints are visible on the barrel. A moderate coat of pine tar is on the handle and the knob has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. The model "456B", order "639" and year "98" are stamped into the knob end. LOA from PSA/DNA (1B06356) who have graded this bat a GU 9.
