No Mets prospect was more highly anticipated than Darryl Strawberry. In a rare example of dreams coming true, Strawberry met the hype by clubbing 24 home runs and winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 1983.
This bat dates from Straw's freshman year in New York when his future seemed limitless. The Louisville Slugger S2 model bat shows light use and is un-cracked. The barrel has several ball marks and stitch impressions as well as bat rack paint streaks. Darryl's number "18" has been written on both ends of the bat. Letter of Authenticity (314407) from MEARS who have graded this bat an A7.
