The "I-70" Showdown" between Missouri's two ball clubs turned out to be one of the most exciting Fall Classics of all-time. Yet at first it almost looked like it would be a wash - St. Louis jumped out to a 3-1 lead but Kansas City battled back, taking Game 5 and 6 to force a pivotal 7th game. Royals ace Brett Saberhagen, perhaps inspired by the birth of his son the previous day, was simply masterful in the final game, allowing just 5 hits. The Royals bats exploded for 11 runs as KC took the game and series. This Rawlings Ueberroth Official World Series baseball was used in that pivotal Game 7 and has been signed by Ozzie Smith (who signed twice, adding "85 WS Game Used Ball"), George Brett (adding "Game 7 Used Ball"), and Brett Saberhagen (adding "WS MVP 1985").
