Legendary Leonard Nimoy defined the essence of the franchise and went on to direct the most popular of the Original Series Movies. As the only Star Trek actor who appeared in all of the incarnations of the Star Trek Franchise Nimoy's work touched multiple generations of fans and continues to this day. This lot features foam latex ‘Mr. Spock’ ears worn by Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek III – The Search For Spock. Leonard Nimoy originally donated the ears for the Actors and Others For Animals Charity event. This lot comes with a copy of a letter from Nimoy on Paramount Pictures letterhead. The letter states, "I’m sorry I’ll be unable to attend your Celebrity Fair, but hope you can make use of the autographed book of poetry and the Vulcan ears I’ve enclosed for the auction.” Shot in 1983 at Occidental College in Los Angeles Star Trek III was Nimoy’s full length feature film directorial debut.
