Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA/DNA. Beginning in 1963, the Beatles took the Rock & Roll scene by storm, generating a fervor among devotees that hasn’t abated in more than fifty years. Presented here is a 1960’s-era, black-and-white photo postcard that has been front-signed in ink by each member of the "Fab Four." The card’s image – likely captured by renowned photographer and friend of the group Dezo Hoffmann – depicts the smiling band-mates clad in matching suits and posing in a studio setting. John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison have signed in red around the card’s perimeter, and a black-ink Jimmie Nicol autograph is situated near the depiction’s center.  Jimmie Nicol played with the Beatles for 13 days during their first world tour to Denmark, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.  On June 3rd 1964 Ringo Starr collapsed during a photo shoot and was hospitalized with tonsillitis.  As a result a mad scramble for a replacement drummer ensued. Although John and Paul eventually accepted the idea George Harrison was hesitant.  In the end Nicol was brought on until Ringo recovered and rejoined the ban.  Jimmie Nicol is an extremely scarce autograph and it is even rarer to find in a Beatles group autograph.  The photo postcard, produced in the Netherlands, features an unused back that is adorned by a name caption and standard postal indicia; a faint pencil notation appears in the back’s top-left corner. Here is a very intriguing and attractive signed piece that shows the young Beatles as many of their fans remember them most fondly … and which carries all three of the lads’ prized signatures and one who got a taste of Beatlemania at its height.

“The Beatles” Multi-Signed and Encapsulated Postcard – Featuring John Lennon, Paul Mccartney, George Harrison and Ultra Rare Jimmie Nicol! (PSA/DNA)
