To firmly cement his claim to the 2014 AL MVP Award, Mike Trout put on a hitting exhibition at the expense of the Houston Astros. In the second inning he sent a Scott Feldman fastball over Angel Stadium's right-centerfield wall for his 33rd of the season. Then in his next time up an inning later Trout sent a second Feldman offering to dead center for season homer number 34. This is the very bat the young Angels phenom used that day. The bat still had some magic left in it the next day when he used it to hit a broken bat single of Dallas Keuchel in the bottom of the 7th. Trout would go on to hit two more homers before the books closed on his first MVP season. Trout's old Hickory MT27 model bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks and stitch impressions are visible along with cleat marks and an impression from a weighted batting donut. As is a Mike Trout trademark, the lower handle and knob has been taped in a spiral pattern with a light coat of Mota Stick on the lower handle and a moderate coat of pine tar on the upper handle to enhance his grip. The bat was originally ordered by Trout during 2013 but was held over and used during his MVP season of 2014. To leave no doubt why this particular bat is significant, the Angels star has signed the bat's barrel in silver adding "HR #33 HR #34 vs. Hou 9-13-14 G/U MVP". The bat has been photo matched to a shot taken of Trout during his one-man offensive onslaught against Houston. Letters of Authenticity from Anderson Authentics and PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 9 plus MLB Hologram (HZ483617) that confirms the game use. Bat has been photo matched to both home runs and photos are online .
