Less than two months after September 11th, the D-Backs and Yankees met in the 97th Fall Classic. Thus, the championship rings produced by Masters of Design incorporated an interior memorial engraving, "9-11-01 / Never Forget." This 10K-gold, size 9-1/2 example belonged to promising young shortstop Alex Cintron, who debuted on July 24th, 2001, and batted .286 with a triple in 8 games. By 2004, he was a full-time starter leading his team in games and plate appearances. Cintron's diamond-studded keepsake exhibits EX/MT display appearance, with a few vertical scratch marks inside the band. The shank designs honor the nation with a patriotic flag and celebrate Arizona's "FASTEST EVER" championship by an expansion team.
