Graded NM 7 by PSA. Hall of Famer. This is the only example at its tier (with none graded higher) among a total of 27 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting. The audience north of the border was categorically immersed in hockey during this period (tempered by a measure of contempt for all things American). And it's a wonder that a baseball card such as this (a "Yankee" too, no less) isn't extinct. This one endured these many decades in a fine state of preservation. Well-centered (with an unobtrusive slight downward shift to the right), this example concedes minor traces of wear on the corners. The back, boldly printed and fully legible, allows the observer to learn yet another nickname for the youthful voltigeur—"Deadpan Joe." An incredible career-contemporary memento, in singular Near Mint condition.
