Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd won 16 games as a starting pitcher for the Red Sox in 1986 and went 1-2 in a postseason that saw Boston fall to the Mets in seven games in the World Series. During that great Red Sox season, Boyd wore this gray, button-down game used road 1986 Boston Red Sox jersey that features "BOSTON" across the chest and Boyd's number "23" on the back in navy blue tackle twill. The front tail of the jersey features a white "Wilson 38" manufacturers size patch, and below the patch is a gray strip tag with "86" stitched in navy blue. Exhibiting evidence of light game use with brown staining on the inside collar, this jersey appears to be all original and unaltered. Full LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
