This is the ideal piece of football memorabilia to capture the time and the essence of the early NFL, when the pioneers of the sport roamed the rough gridiron during the league's early, formative years. This magnificent pro model Hutch leather helmet emanates from the 1920s-30s when Red Grange ran roughshod over smaller, weaker defenders and the forward pass was still a novelty. The front designates the headgear as a Hutch model "H-18" helmet, and its fully intact chin-strap still accompanies. On the inside, "LARGE" is printed on the sole tag. The interior features a double strap support system, with a few very limited pieces of "cushioning". The helmet exhibits moderate wear with scuffing, scratches and discoloration of the still-supple leather, with one small inch-long crack near the back air hole on top. This is an outstanding piece of early football equipment, boasting a superb look and great overall feel. You can actually get your bell rung just thinking about it! Perfect for the advanced football equipment collection, having tremendous display-ability.
