There is no more fragile item in this hobby than a decal. Sold primarily about 100 years ago, these bats were made for display, but many eventually became children's "toys" and were used to bat the ball, whack the door and even smack the sibling. In any event, most of these painted decals lost their images along the way, as fragility and children's expressive nature usually do not go hand in hand. However, this collection of mini bats incorporate many of the game’s greatest players, and are in exceptional condition. This offered Joe Jackson decal bat measures 14 inches in length, is branded, "Louisville Slugger" with "40JJ" within the label, and its handle is wrapped in period black tape - which is exactly as issued. A small hole at the barrel end was likely used for display purposes, which is good considering the bat was displayed rather than "used." This item has tremendous eye appeal and despite a few light scratches on Jackson's image, the decal remains about 95% intact. However, Jackson's facsimile signature at the bottom of the decal is 100% intact. This is one exceptional mini decal bat, one of the finest Jackson decal bats in existence.
