Trained and managed by his father, Smokin Joe Frazier, Marvis Frazier had a memorable, if unsuccessful, career as a boxer as well. After losing his first major bought to champ Larry Holmes in 1983, Frazier went on to carve out a good record through 1986. Then he ran into a 24-0 Mike Tyson. Completely out-matched by the rising young slugger, Marvis was beat into unconsciousness by Tyson with in the first 20 seconds of the fight's start. After a year's lay-off, Marvis fought a few more bouts before retiring with a respectable 19-2 pro record. This corner man’s jacket dates from Frazier's 1983-87 pro career. The red silken jacket is trimmed in gold with a zippered front. Large pockets trimmed in gold are located on both sides. Everlast label is above the left pocket. "Dry Clean Only" and "LARGE" size tagging is located inside the collar. The back boldly proclaims "Smokin Joe Inc" in gold tackle twill script. Condition is very good with the colors bright and bold with just a few loose threads on the trim. Right sleeve has a dry cleaning ticket staples to it.
