Buzz Boyle played in five major league seasons with Boston Braves and Brooklyn Dodgers, but also spent five seasons with the Blues, an affiliate of the New York Yankees. He played in 51 games with Kansas City in 1940 and batted .250. This grey heavy flannel button-down Kansas City Blues away jersey features “KANSAS CITY” stitched across the front in an arching pattern in navy blue felt. The jersey was originally numbered “18” but the “8” has been removed with remnants of navy blue stitching forming a faint outline in its place. The number “1” is stitched on in navy blue felt, and there is a “Lowe and Campbell” tag inside the collar with an additional tag reading “TO CLEAN THIS GARMET DRY CLEAN ONLY.” A necessary feature of heavy wool jerseys include the six ventilation holes in each arm pit. A repair on the back right shoulder has been made using a patch of grey fabric and stitching, and is only visible from the inside. There is a name placket with “Boyle” stitched in navy blue on the inside of the left front half of the jersey under the button holes. A tremendously vintage and obviously well worn jersey, used by the Yankee organization for the minor league team which produced such great players over the years. The jersey comes with an LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
