Lot #1: Michael Jordan Photo-Matched (2/1/1998) Game Used Bulls Road Jersey From Final Championship Season (MeiGray and Bulls LOAs)

Description

No player has revolutionized the way basketball is played like Michael Jordan. In the memorabilia world, a Jordan jersey from his prime is the equivalent of a Babe Ruth autographed baseball. Indeed it is almost impossible to think of Michael Jordan without picturing him in his red Chicago Bulls jersey. While any game used MJ jersey is something to behold, this particular jersey comes with the most rock-solid provenance available to a collector: it has been photo-matched to the February 1, 1998 game against the LA Lakers at the Great Western Forum. Jordan surpassed his season average of 28 points per game by scoring 31 against the Lakers though LA prevailed by a score of 112-87. It was a rare loss for the Bulls that season as they were on the way to their second "three-peat" - three consecutive NBA Championships. Highlights of the game can be viewed in various places online and reproductions of three photos showing Jordan during the game in this jersey are included with this lot. The red Chicago Bulls jersey has "BULLS" and Jordan's number "23" on the front in white and black tackle twill. The neck and sleeve openings are trimmed with red, black and white ribbing and the NBA patch is on the left breast. Nike size "50" label is in the lower left front tail along with NBA, Bulls and "Length +4" tagging. The back has "JORDAN" and his number "23" in white and black tackle twill. The jersey shows light game use with loose and stray threads on the tackle twill lettering. A great game used jersey from the very height of Jordan's career. It is very rare to see a game used Jordan jersey that has been photo matched and accompanied by an LOA from the Chicago Bulls. Letter of Authenticity (152154) from MeiGrayGroup and the Chicago Bulls.
