Lot #5: 2012 Manny Pacquiao “WBC 50th Anniversary Diamond Champion Award” Presented to Pacquiao

Description

A boxer of Manny Pacquiao's skill and determination comes along only once in a generation. Arguably the most famous Filipino boxer since the legendary “Flash” Elorde, Manny has thrilled crowds with his aggressive style and 'take no prisoners' attitude. Notching up victory after victory against some of the most accomplished boxers of his era, Manny has risen to the top and has held championship titles in 8 different divisions. When the WBC decided to honor Manny in 2012 with their 50th Anniversary Diamond Champion Award, they chose a unique 'ripped steel' design to honor their champion. Eye-catching to say the least, it is a medium-sized dark plaque with metal nameplate curled and ripped along the edges as if it was emulating Manny Pacquiao's will to survive. Exhibiting normal flecking and wear and a distressed look fitting with the theme, the wording on the plaque reads “Manny Pacquiao First WBC Diamond Champion” along the top with “WBC 50th Anniversary Cancun 2012” engraved along the bottom. A conversation starting award for the boxing collector looking for an interesting prize from one of boxing's greatest multi-division champions.
